Rin is a Lapisian teenager living on Yantar, the planetoid that feeds the rest of the world. She is a good girl, unable to lie her way out of a wet paper bag, but who needs lies when you’ve got luck. Rin is destined to become a hero, but is she ready? A world of questions swims in the tides overhead.
A great researcher and Rin’s father, Dr. D’Lorah is also known as Storm Walker. He disappeared a few months ago, but Rin hasn’t given up hope. She sets off to find him with the help of her robot, Reef, and new best friend, Nikki.
numen9 is full of small floating robots called drifters. Reef, however, isn’t like other drifters. He is not connected to the Hive, an artificial intelligence network that forces drifters into metaphysical conformity. Reef would prefer to read novels and contemplate the nature of existence.
A Syndicate SAiLS agent, Streak is on the hunt for Rin after his partner and taboo love interest, Agent Sunny, dies in a crash chasing Rin’s new best friend Nikki. Emotionally fragile, Streak is fooled into leaving the “crime” scene, but when he discovers the truth, Streak’s syndicated blood boils.
Truth Pool, where thirsty minds come to drink. She’s got the hottest driftcast in numen9, because she tells the forbidden stories. Somehow, Drifty has managed to avoid Syndicate prosecution, even though her stories would get anyone else sent to the mines.
A free spirit from the pink planetoid nation of Celestos, Nikki escapes from a group home on Yantar and crashes into the farm where Rin lives with her grandpa. The two hit it off and decide to run off together on the adventure of a lifetime.
Charming like a snake, and don’t call her Margot. To the Chairman, a one-world government is the answer to all of numen9’s problems. She is hungry for the mystical powers hiding in the wastelands and throws the resources of the state behind her obsession.
A prince among thieves, this teenage heartthrob has his own place out in Yantar’s bleached relics. Nikki finds herself infatuated with this handsome bandit, which drives Rin up the wall.
The bleached relics is a radioactive wasteland full of monsters. It takes a special type of survivor to carve out a life there—and Loaj is one of them. He is thirsty for friendship, but radiation wreaked havoc on both his mind and body. It’s hard to make friends with a poo-knife in your hand.
Rin’s grandfather, Kenneth Sohan, is a powerful politician in the Syndicate Ministers Aggregate. He keeps his granddaughter on a short leash and pushes against her independent spirit.
He looks good for being 3,000 years old. Legend has it that meditation helped him stay young, others say he turned himself to stone for most of that time. He wrote the Tome of Yantar, one of the nine books in the Numen Tomes, and dwells in the Alum Shoals, a mystical realm where only those with interdimensional capabilities can visit.
Welcome to numen9, where 3,000 years ago a catastrophe shattered the world into nine planetoids and floated the oceans into the sky. Radioactive storms now rage near the “inner sun.” Water is scarce, food production is falling, and tensions between numen9’s biggest powers are on the rise. The delicate balance holding this fractured world from collapse will soon break… unless a hero emerges.
Only a balanced hero can bring balance back to numen9. The tribulations of a world facing calamity knock the average numenite sideways, but a hero of balanced character can usher in the future.

Our original animated series follows Atla Gildeon and her twin brother Kryll on a quest from the powerful Chairman of the Syndicate–a mission so secret, even the twins don’t really know what they’ve signed up for. Indie publisher ESDigital Games and Toronto-based film and game production studio Lofty Sky Entertainment, are sharing the roster of talented voice actors featured in the upcoming narrative game Sky of Tides and the animated series set in the same universe, Sky of Tides: ATLA. The cast of each contains voices recognized from television, anime and other popular video games.
Sky of Tides is a story-driven sci-fi adventure with RPG elements set in a technologically advanced universe on the brink of war. Set on numen9, the game explores the aftermath of a great calamity that fractured the planet, floated the oceans into the sky, and split the land into nine separate planetoids. Players follow Rin, voiced by Ginger Sue (Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, Dragonheir: Silent Gods, My Time at Sandrock). Rin must search for her missing father following his disappearance under mysterious circumstances and heal the broken planet of numen9. Along her journey, Rin encounters a diverse cast of characters that present choices that will shape both Rin and numen9’s future
Sky of Tides: Atla is an original five-episode animated series that will be available exclusively for a limited time and at no extra charge as an unlockable reward in the game. It explores the world of numen9 from the perspective of another protagonist, Atla Gildeon, voiced by Angela Tran (Genshin Impact, The Titan’s Bride, Joey & Ella). The series will also be included in special retail box sets of the game being sold by ESDigital Games. More platforms where the series can be watched will be announced at a later date.
Among the best known cast of the Sky of Tides game and series are American voice actor and director Todd Haberkorn, who has voiced characters in many popular anime and games including Dragon Ball Z and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. He brings the role of Lu D’Lorah – father of the game’s main character, to life, and voices Commander Ox in the animated series. Damien Hass, a familiar face from Smosh Games and the Damien & Shayne Show, as well as the voice of several characters from the show Clarence and games including Grand Theft Auto V, Halo Wars 2, and Fortnite, is the voice of Reef in the Sky of Tides game.
Also notable are ex-USAF officer-turned voice actor and author, Joe Zieja, whose works include Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Just Cause 4. He voices the role of Streak in the game. And popular variety streamer Briana “Storymodebae” Williams joins the cast, voicing the character of Drifty No-Hive in both the game and animated series.
In addition to the actors mentioned above, the cast of the game and/or the series includes:
“It’s been a fantastic experience working with this incredibly talented cast. They helped us fully realize the characters of numen9 as we imagined them and their rich performances brought our universe to life,” said Jason Loftus, CEO and executive producer at Lofty Sky Entertainment.
As an entrée into the world of Sky of Tides, the studio will release nine audio diaries or novellas providing backstory for each of the main characters. Players can sign up to receive these novellas on the new Sky of Tides site.
“We wanted to introduce players to our characters and the unique world of numen9 before they play the game,” said Loftus. “So we worked with the actors to create this series of audio novellas as something that can live outside the game but bring players in.”
Press and consumers attending Gamescom later this month will be able to check out all-new gameplay for Sky of Tides at the Indie Arena booth in Hall 10 (2nd level, Space 10, Wednesday August 21 through Sunday, August 26. The game will also be part of this year’s Courage Cologne event at devcom Developer Night on Tuesday, August 20 (tickets). Press attending Gamescom are encouraged to meet with the developers on the ESDigital booth in the Galaktus bizhub (Hall 4.1, booth D-011).

The storms back home were nothing like this. Twenty-eight years on Lapis, and none of our surge storms came even close to this Yantarian whopper! I’ve only been here for three months and they just keep getting stronger.
The plains of Yantar are famous for their surge storms, and this hill outside of the station is the perfect spot to watch them crash into the storm panels. Surge nodes, energy orbs full of water, spray into the air as waves bounce off of the sky projected panels and flow around the station. It looks like fireworks…
“Streak! Come back!” i freeze. Her voice fills my mind and the rest doesn’t matter anymore. “It’s what he wants. He wants to be a victim. He wants to disrupt the day.” Sunny’s words wash away the rage.
“But look at that.” i point at the pillar. “Everyone is going to see that he defaced this… mighty pillar… on sacred SAiLS soil.”
Agent Sunny swoops down and snaps up the laser marker. “i can fix this.” She begins to finish what Duncan started.
“What are you doing?!” i look around, a bit shocked that Sunny, my love…my love? That she’s vandalizing the Academy.
Mick finally brought me along with him today. He said he found something on the other side of the forest that could make us rich. I’ve never thought about being rich before.
“Hey, slow down, Mick.”
He turns and smiles. “Your legs are too short.” He’s three years older than me, and he never lets me forget it.
I put my hands on my hips. “Well, I can’t just snap my fingers and make them longer can I?”
Mick laughs. I love it when he laughs. “You’ve got some fire. That’s why I’m bringing you out here.”
“You saying, you want me to burn this place down?” I say with maybe a little too much enthusiasm…
I peek inside and see the bleachette impaled on a huge crystal spike. Behind it, the relic squatter is somehow standing on his one good leg with his hand on a lever. The other leg is partly missing and squirting blood.
I say, “You’re gonna bleed out.”
He looks down. “I’m fine. I’ve had worse than this before.”
I can feel my face wincing. “If that was true, you would have only had one leg when I met you.”
He looks down at his leg and lowers himself to the ground. “It’s pretty bad, huh?”…
Boylan whispers, “Uh oh, somebody’s gonna get it.”
Usually Boylan’s snark adds a bit of levity to these long meetings, but I sense something serious, so I wave Boylan off and lean into Genin’s remarks.
Genin lifts his arm and makes a fist. “All of us shout ‘Loyalty is Unity’ whenever we’re expected to, but those of us who dwell in the Chairman’s Tower and live in the heart of the Syndicate need to shout those words even in solitude.” Genin shifts his gaze and zeros in on me.
“Minister Sohan, have you ever heard the old saying ‘a scud in the rytails ruins the crate’? ”
I’m caught off guard. He’s up to something, but I don’t know what. I remain as hard and still as crystal. Genin pauses, letting the tension hang in the air. Then he shifts his gaze to Boylan. “Scud in the rytails …”
Boylan squirms in his chair and looks at me.
I remain unmoved.
The color drains from his face.
Genin has something…
Eldric clears his throat. His brow furrows. “I plan to. In fact, that’s why I scoured the coast looking for you.”
“How did you know to look for me along the coast?”
“You really don’t know how famous you are, do you Seed Sid?”
“Oh, I’m not famous. I mean plenty of people around here know me. They like my songs, my stories, and they appreciate the rytails I leave growing in my wake. You might say I’m a local celebrity, but famous? I’m nothing like you Gildeons.”
“You are humble. A virtue I admire, but do not possess. Plenty of Yantarians talk and travel. The story of Seed Sid is known all over the world. Many don’t believe you’re real, but I did. So, I came to find you.”
I dance a little jig for this fancy fella. “And how do you like what you found?”
Eldric smiles. “I’m even happier than I thought I would be. I want you to join us.
